35-78 DETERMINAREA DEBITULUI LA CENTRALELE HIDROELECTRICE DE MICĂ CĂDERE DOTATE CU TURBINE KAPLAN

DETERMINATION OF FLOW RATE AT LOW HEAD HYDRO POWER PLANTS FEATURE WITH KAPLAN TURBINES

In the paper there are presented some methods of determination of the flow rate measurements in low head hydro power plans are also presented with a series of field studies. The most commonly used method for determining the flow in convergent measurement sections is the multipoint velocity measurement with propeller type current meters. For flow rate evaluation integration of the difference between measured velocities and a known velocity distribution is recommended. One of the newest methods of flow determination in intakes is the acoustic scintillation method, a cross-correlation method. For accurate results the scintillation method must be installed downstream of trash racks. Another method that can also be adopted to measurements in low head, is method of acoustic transit measurement, but new procedures for determination weighing the individual path velocities have to be applied due to varying shape of the flow cross sections. At the end of the paper a comparative analysis is made between the methods for determining the flow rate in the convergent measuring sections

34-25 REPARTIŢIA OPTIMĂ A PUTERII ÎNTRE HIDROAGREGATELE UNEI CENTRALE HIDROELECTRICE

OPTIMAL POWER REPARTITION BETWEEN UNITS OF A HYDRO POWER PLANT
The paper presents a methodology for the operation of those hydro power plants provided with more penstocks and more units by the optimal distribution of the dispatched power among its available generating units, aiming at the maximum efficiency of the completely hydro power plant energy conversion. Considering the unit operating characteristics as unequal at different head levels, the authors propose a modern program of optimal distribution of power between the units of a hydro power plant to take into account the real characteristics and real head for each unit to define the actual performance specifications. Further, this information can be utilized in the optimization process to minimize water expenditure at hydropower plant.

32-6 DETERMINAREA PARAMETRILOR REALI DE FUNCŢIONARE A HIDROAGREGATELOR DIN CENTRALELE DE MICĂ CĂDERE

DETERMINATION OF THE ACTUAL OPERATING PARAMETERS OF THE HYDRO UNITS OF A LOW HEAD HYDRO POWER PLANT

The paper presents the flow rate calculation and measurement methodology for a high flow/low head hydro power plant with upstream cofferdam recesses.

At the same time, the paper presents the results of the in situ measurements of the actual operating parameters of the hydropower units, especially of the flow rate measurements carried out on the hydropower units’ no.1 and no. 2 of Robeşti HPP. The measurements have been carried out in agreement with the provisions of CEI 41/1991 [4].
