MOBILITY OF PROGRESSIVE CAVITY PUMPS
(PCP) GEAR COUPLINGS
The writing represents a study on the angular mobility of the toothed
surfaces used for the progressive cavity pumps (PCP), in the transmission from
the drive shaft to the pump rotor: the teeth bulging and the play between the
flanks, the contact conditions of the teeth based on the blocking contour of an
inner gear with zero tooth number difference.

This paper estimates an important criterion regarding the choice of an
electromechanical drive: energetic efficiency. The efficiency of the driving
system is analysed taking into account the transformer and power network,
frequency converter, motor, a belt transmission, a gearbox and the coupling
between the gearbox and the driven machine.
