MADE OUT OF BRICK
The main role of the construction is to provide comfort and protection
to people at home, at work and in social and cultural institutions. The
occurrence of problems conected to damages of structural or non structural
elements leads to the discomfort of their occupants, and in some cases, their
remediation having also a psychological motivation besides the reinsurancing
the resistance and stability. The rehabilitation of old buildings made of brick, is
difficult because in many cases, norelated data about the materials has been
found, nor of the structure conformation,or about the adjustments during the life
of the building, or which severe external actions has it been subjected to.

FIXING OF THE EXTERNAL THERMAL INSULATION SYSTEM
Improved thermal protection for both structural and non-structural
exterior walls is achieved by applying an additional insulating layer to all the
constructive solutions used for walls. In order the thermal insulation obtained by
applying the system to satisfy all requirements it is essential how the system is
applied since the final result is influenced up to 40 % by the workmanship
quality. The works should be performed only by qualified personnel in this field,
by workers trained for the given purpose and who understood the usefulness of
such a system, but also the sensitivities of execution technology.

The thermal insulation of old housing blocks was a new preoccupation
of our country along with entry on the EU. Each company, have performed new
materials and termosysteme in this field. This paper represents a short
overview on the impact of the thermal rehabilitation of the old housing blocks
and the new energy performance of the buildings. Also, it is presented the old
systems of insulation and the new proposal solutions for best results in energy
consumption.
