energy may now be used on a national, even global scale to produce both
electricity and heat. In Romania, geothermal energy is used to produce heat,
the main sources being located in the western area of the country.

HYDROGEN FUEL CELL
This paper presents the importance and perspective of hydrogen as an
energy carrier, now when hydrogen fuel cells can be an option for reducing the
emissions from the transportation sector. It is also described the operating
mode of a hydrogen fuel cell and most importantly, there are emphasized the
recent achievements regarding the key candidate materials for hydrogen
storage, which is an essential factor in the commercialization of hydrogen fuel
cell vehicles.

RESEARCH ON SOLID POLYMER ELECTROLYTE
ELECTROLYSER OF THE FUEL CELL
This study analyzes the solid polymer electrolyte electrolyser of the
fuel cell, the theoretical model description and efficiency of the SPE fuel cell
water electrolysis and theoretical aspect of the Butler-Volmer equation. The
model description is used to understand the effects of the parameters on SPE
fuel cell water electrolysis. Recent studies have demonstrated the importance
of the current exchange at the anode chambers and the phenomena at the
anode membrane interface, which is the key point of the entire efficiency of
water electrolysis.
