ARTIFICIAL INTELIGENCE IMPLEMENTED IN RALLY VEHICLES PENTRU INCREASING ENERGETIC
EFFICIENCY IN COMPETITIONS
The present work summarized in a scientific paper presents the results of an applied research on specific aspects in the artificial intelligence and energy efficiency during real time measurements on a rally car. Energy management when injecting fuel in the engine and other significant parameters are monitored and recorded in a rally competition.
Close analyse of the injection duty, air temperature and barometric pressure, in different regimes, with computing and networking equipment coupled to the intelligent control module via cable connection. There are outlined the energy management operation and the main injection duty cycle, energy supply and the ignition timing of the rally car. Tests on the engine’s intelligent systems of the rally vehicle are made in the national rally competitions that are in the field of motor-sport. It is an entry level for artificial intelligence but operates properly with mechanical components.
The present paper shows the development of testing artificial intelligence related to the energy efficiency management and ignition timing systems and their correlation with other smart control checks in rally working conditions.

31-58 ANALIZA UNEI SOLUȚII DE MANAGEMENT TERMIC AL MOTORULUI CA TEHNOLOGIE INTEGRATĂ ÎN AUTOVEHICULUL DE RALIU

analizing a THERMAL MANAGEMENT SOLUTION of engine as EMBEDDED TECHNOLOGy in rally vehicles

 

The present scientific paper develops an applied research of the thermal management aspects in the engine operational behavior and a graphic analyze of the real time measurements. Engine management parameters were recorded during rally competition, as well as injection duty, air temperature and other-operational behavior, in different running situations, with engine monitoring equipment connected to the electronic control unite via wire connection. Here are highlighted the thermal management system and the injector duty cycle, fuel supply and the ignition angle of the motor-sport vehicle (Mitsubishi Lancer in 2011). Importance for testing the engine systems of the Mitsubishi Lancer comes from the numerous rally vehicles that are in such competitions, and interest in understanding them. The development of present work aims toward the goal of outlining the aspects related to the thermal management and fuel supply systems and their relation with ignition control in some specific operating situations.

26-46 ANALIZA MĂRIMILOR SPECIFICE CICLULUI FUNCȚIONAL AL UNUI MOTOR CU APRINDERE PRIN SCÂNTEIE ÎN RAPORT CU ALTITUDINEA

THE ANALIZE OF SPECIFIC PARAMETERS FOR SPARK IGNITED ENGINE OPERATIONAL CYCLE DEPENDING ON ALTITUDE
The spark ignited engine is yet one of the most popular thermo-chemical energy converter worldwide used for propelling over 500 million cars today. Some of these vehicles are used in different geographic conditions that alter the engine operating regime usually by increasing fuel consumption and consequently the air pollution in order to maintain the torque and power output performances requested through the driver pedal. Because atmospheric pressure at high altitudes is lower in comparison with the see level, spark ignited engine’s operating conditions are tremendously changed in a 2000 meters of altitude range. The present paper unveils some of the particular engine operating conditions at different altitudes of the road and proposes some solutions and developing perspectives concerning the limitations and problems that occur during field operation. In order to obtain the same power and torque performances at any altitude level the engine operating parameters have to be the same at all times and at all altitudes. By field experimentation the research shows where the problems are; on the other hand, by analyze and interpretation it brings up the proper solutions to the inconveniences.
