IMPACT ON SOIL
Chemical fertilizers are frequently used in agriculture for increasing agricultural outputs. Incorrect handling can cause soil pollution and damage to surface waters. The paper provides a series of chemical fertilizers examples used frequently in Romania. Furthermore the paper is showing an analysis on their impact on soil and water. A series of determinations were made for revealing their presence and their provenance. In this regard the paper is proposing to carry out a data base for revealing information about: identification, implementation and evaluation of risk assessment on soil caused by certain pollutants (heavy metals, nitrides).

TAPPING PESTICIDES FROM AQUATIC ENVIROMENT
Throughout agricultural technologies a series of chemical substances are used for pest-control. Among this substance, we have to notice the pesticides due to their negative impact on the aquatic ecosystem. The most dangerous pesticides are the organochlorines, because of their property to accumulate into adipose tissues. Organochlorines through their chemical composition have mutagenic and carcinogenic potency.
The paper provides several methods for tapping these substances from surface waters. One of the methods often used is using selective membranes during the process of reverse osmosis providing chemical oxidation and adsorption.

According to previous European Commissioner for Environment- Janez Potocnick, “Improving our economic well-being and also to our environment was once considered the solution taking into account all aspects of the problem. Now this is called circular economy”. Nowadays, our model of mass production and consumption challenge in a dangerous limits and resources of the world and threatens the sustainability and stability through the prism of our own future as population. The economic factor of consumption based on the phrase “buy-use-throw“, which implies the existence of large quantities of raw materials, cheap and readily available, is about to reach its physical limits of sustainability. Circular economy appears to be an attractive alternative and viable, so large international companies, and also large organizations and interstate forums have already begun to consider and explore the concept.

ASPECTS OF URBAN AIR QUALITY Air pollution can cause and aggravate respiratory diseases, cardiovascular damage forests, increase soil acidity and water can affect crops and cause corrosion of buildings. We can see that many air pollutants that contribute to climate change and climate change in turn will affect air quality in the future. The concentration of aerosol particles in the atmosphere is an important parameter for assessing air quality. For example, variations in the concentration of the aerosol particles will differ greatly in urban areas to rural areas or industrial areas to their neigh boring areas. RED IMPACT FROM SLUDGE PROCESS FOR THE
PRODUCTION OF ENVIRONMENTAL ALUMINEI Red sludge is a waste resulting from the Bayer process of refining bauxite to produce alumina. Red sludge is a waste strongly alkaline due to NaOH. Its composition depends on a number of factors but essentially the composition of the bauxite. Everything depends on the composition and quantity of bauxite red mud result: between 0.33 to 2 tons of red mud per tons of alumina produced or 0.4-2 tons of red mud per tons of alumina produced. The main environmental issue out of the sheer amount of red sludge produced is alkalinity. In paper presents analysis of the composition of this material particularly as regards the possibility of environmental pollution. Another factor that is useful to know in terms of environmental impact, especially in case of accidents knows the amount of acid required to bring the pH to a particular environmental acceptable values.

26-26 RECICLAREA DEŞEURILOR PROVENITE DE LA BATERIILE AUTO ÎN STICLE PE BAZĂ DE PLUMB

THE RECICLYNG OF THE WASTES PROVIDED
OF AUTO BATTERIES IN LEAD GLASSES
The purpose of this paper was i) to obtained the lead glasses with the
xPb∙(100-x)PbO2 composition where x = 0-15mol % Pb by melt quenching
method and ii) to characterized of the structural and optical properties of the
obtained glasses by investigations of FTIR and UV-VIS spectroscopy in order
to possible applications in the auto battery recycling.
FTIR data show that the accommodation of the host glass with excess
of metallic lead was possible by the conversion of some [PbO6] octahedral
structural units into [PbOn] structural units where n=3 and 4. Then, the increase
of the metallic lead high content in the matrix network will produce to the
deficiency of non-bridging oxygen’s and the formation of UV-VIS bands in
region centred at about 300nm which can be attributed to the electronic
transitions of the lead ions.

Setting emission sources, their values, substances that are
discharged, the effect of substances on the environment, are issues before the
establishment of measures to be taken to reduce or eliminate pollutant
emissions. Determination of pollutant emissions and assessing the degree of
pollution in a uniform manner in all European Community countries must use a
single method of calculating the level of pollution. Monitoring of environmental
factors on agglomeration is important because it highlights the level of pollution
in a city, established source of pollution and may recommend appropriate
measures for its reduction.

USING WASTE AS AN ALTERNATIVE ENERGY SOURCE
Urban waste in storage can be an inexhaustible source of energy.
Under the action of bacteria, an organic substance from waste undergoes
anaerobic reduction as a result the significant amount of biogas, which contains
an average of over 50 % methane, which has a high calorific value. These
gases can be captured by a network of pipes, filters, dryers can be fuel for an
internal combustion engine driving a generator, or can be liquefied. Thus from
the waste, obtain electricity, clean energy and easy to carry. In this way all
urban landfills in Romania can become energy producers. The benefits are
enormous, in that energy from waste sites and biogas is captured with a more
powerful greenhouse gases than carbon dioxide.
