Standards are applied to the design, construction and performance of the equipment and components integrated in smart cities and smart buildings. Technical standardization committees are focused on developing and revising standards ensuring interoperability in real time in order to improve services related to urban communities. The presentation will contain information about the technical committees of the international (including European) standardization organizations and reference standards which contributed to the long-term development of the intelligent cities by defining the necessary guidelines for leading and measuring the urban service performance and the quality of life. We present standards about global information infrastructure, internet protocol aspects and next-generation networks, Internet of Things reference model and functional groups, Machine-to-Machine communications (M2M), Smart Energy Infrastructures security, review of existing security measures and convergence investigations. Finally we presented societal security – Emergency management, which are implemented in the smart city.

AN EFFECTIVE ALTERNATIVE TO LINEAR ECONOMY: CIRCULAR ECONOMY

 

According to previous European Commissioner for Environment- Janez Potocnick, “Improving our economic well-being and also to our environment was once considered the solution taking into account all aspects of the problem. Now this is called circular economy”. Nowadays, our model of mass production and consumption challenge in a dangerous limits and resources of the world and threatens the sustainability and stability through the prism of our own future as population. The economic factor of consumption based on the phrase “buy-use-throw“, which implies the existence of large quantities of raw materials, cheap and readily available, is about to reach its physical limits of sustainability. Circular economy appears to be an attractive alternative and viable, so large international companies, and also large organizations and interstate forums have already begun to consider and explore the concept.

At the beginning of last century, Romania was one of the richest European countries, among the first 10 countries that have introduced the car since its inception.

It presents the first transport vehicles in Romania dates back to 1895 are represented by two hybrid trucks with steam. „The Karaso” Simplon exotic convertible is a car made in Resita, in the style roadsters from the 50s. Vintage cars are not just cars, they can be considered on its own history on wheels, ideal combination for nostalgic times in which power was aesthetics, elegance and refinement. The oldest car in the west is a nice Ford Model A, 1928. The tradition left by the big names in automotive construction must be respected, promoting the work of some young Romanian students from technical universities and their achievements: University „Ovidius” in Constanta, Technical University „Gh. Asachi” University and University of Pitesti.

Many important inventions are known to authors who have not achieved them, or inventing their primacy being given to others. In the absence of laws on copyright, missing which led to the bankruptcy of producers who did not could recover the investment, if inventors wrong in most cases it comes down to recognition late, to a mere „making aware „of inventions attributed incorrectly. It is presented in a case known: the series car. Inventor „official”: Henry Ford, inventor real: Karl Benz. It is considered that Henry Ford who revolutionized automobile history both through design changes, and especially by the big production number where his car, Ford Model T, was conducted.

The article analyzes the case of the first car manufactured 100% Romanian legal territory of Romania: Malaxa or Matra (conducted in Arad when it belonged to the Austro-Hungarian Empire).

In the midst of remodelling during the extensive campaigns systematization that has undergone Bucharest following the earthquake of March 4, 1977, and ambition Ceausescu to shape city image and likeness urban centres North Korea, they have fallen victim to many buildings and not less than twenty-nine religious buildings dating from the eighteenth and nineteenth century. Albert Einstein (b. March 14, 1879, Ulm – d. April 18, 1955, Princeton) was a theoretical physicist ethnic Hebrew, born in Germany, stateless since 1896, Swiss 1899, emigrated in 1933 in the US, naturalized American in 1940, professor at Berlin and Princeton. He was the author of relativity theory and one of the most brilliant scientists of mankind. In 1921 I was awarded the Nobel Prize in Physics.

Send famous letter to US President Franklin D. Roosevelt, stressing the need to atomic bomb production, as there is the possibility that the German government to use this plan. Einstein’s letter helped precipitate the efforts to obtain the atomic bomb in the United States. It should be noted, however, that Einstein had no direct personal role in its manufacture, after expressing his indignation regarding the bombing of Hiroshima and Nagasaki.

This short paper outlines the role of education in human relationships, but mostly the one between Lucian Blaga and Dorin Pavel. The biographies of the two Romanian personalities help us realise how intellectual training gets developed within a lifetime. Dorin Pavel was Lucian Blaga’s nephew and he was born on May 31, 1900 in Sebes, as the son of a schoolteacher named Ion Pavel and his wife, Letiţia. In 1935 he became a professor at the Polytechnic University in Bucharest. On the other hand, Lucian Blaga was born on May 9, 1895 in Sebes, as the son of a priest. He became a poet and a philosopher.

Deși ne vorbise în cursurile sale de utilizarea apelor în scopuri multiple și încă din 1956 fusese numit membru în Comitetul de Stat al Apelor și, în această calitate, participa la ședințele consiliului tehnic al apelor care aviza toate proiectele comitetului, Dorin Pavel nu s-a implicat deloc în activitățile legate de elaborarea planurilor de amenajare pe bazine hidrografice sau ale schemelor de amenajare legate de amenajările hidrotehnice. Explicația probabilă este faptul că în anii 1960 dezvoltarea economică a României permitea să se treacă la realizarea simultană a unui număr important de lucrări hidrotehnice și devenea necesară o selecție a lucrărilor la care colabora. Chiar dacă a avut o contribuție foarte importantă ca consultant pentru diferite proiecte, Dorin Pavel dorea să fie implicat direct în toate fazele de realizare a lucrărilor: proiectare, urmărirea execuției și recepția lucrărilor, nu în elaborarea unor referate de expertiză. De aceea, el a ales să se dedice în special construcției de centrale hidroelectrice, meserie pe care și-o alesese încă din tinerețe, iar dintre acestea a selecționat cele care îl atrăgeau în mod deosebit: cele de pe Sebeș, care era râul copilăriei sale pentru care avea o slăbiciune deosebită, cele de pe Lotru, pe care le descrie ca prezentând un record mondial de complexitate, depășind-o pe cea a sistemului Grande Dixence și centrala Porțile de Fier de pe Dunăre.

Dar sunt profesori care, pe lângă aceste cunoștințe, ne-au arătat și modul în care trebuia să gândim în noua noastră profesie și care sunt căile pe care trebuia să le urmăm pentru a avea succese în viața noastră profesională, Această înțelegere nu ne era insuflată prin noțiunile predate la curs ci trebuia să le deslușim din personalitatea și activitatea acestor profesori. Iar, după absolvire, pe lângă aplicarea cunoștințelor pe care le acumulasem în timpul facultății, trebuia să găsim modalitățile în care să facem uz de această filosofie a meseriei, într-un viitor pe care nici noi, nici profesorii noștri, nu-l puteau defini.

In this paper is presented the functioning and the dimensioning procedure of rapid sand filters used in water treatment plants. The dimensioning calculus refers to filter basin, water inflow and draining systems.

Aerial electric lines are designed to ensure safe transport and
distribution of electricity. Physical support is provided by the power lines poles.
Pillars supporting 110kV aerial lines are usually made using prestressed spun
concrete. Currently in Romania, prestressed concrete poles for high voltage
electric lines are no longer manufactured, but this type of poles are in service.
In case of intervention on a transmission line by modifying the original design
characteristics, it is important that pillars can be verified easily as area of use
for the evaluation of investment costs, to ensure in designed version the ability
to take over the loads satisfying toughness requirements and stability.

Die vorliegende Arbeit behandelt ein neues Meßprinzip der
Bodenverdichtung. Aus dem Bewegungsverhalten einer zur Verdichtung des
Bodens eingesetzten Vibrationswalze auf die Eigenschaften des Bodens
zurückzuschließen, erfüllt die Anforderungen des Meßverfahrens. Dieses
Verfahren der Verdichtungskontrolle bietet gegenüber der bisherigen
Prüftechnik den wesentlichen Vorteil, die Bodeneigenschaften arbeitsintegriert
flächendekend messen zu können. Es wird das Beteriebsverhalten der
Vibrationswalze analytisch beschrieben und man kann mit zwei Methoden die
Verdichtung ununterbrochen überprüfen.

The second stage of the Bucharest Metro extension started with the metro
tunnel excavation presented in this paper, the M4 line. Tunnels in soft ground
usually imply drilling through sub-surface un-lithified deposits, namely
cohesive/non-cohesive/mixed soils that involve soft ground tunneling conditions
where the tunnel is driven using a closed shield as temporary ground support. This
must be followed by immediate involvement of tunnel lining due to considerable
potential of ground movement during excavation, realized using a high
mechanization level of the process. The Bucharest soil grain size distribution and
the rest of the soil geotechnical parameters was the main factor to deal with. The
water table also played a major role in determining the TBM type used, presenting
further influences on the stability of the excavation face, with the option of
dewatering the drilling site soil enhancing the TBM circumstances.
The chosen EPB type of TBM handled the geological variations that
occurred at the excavation face (e.g. voids) due to the non-compressive medium
which fills the working chamber at the TBM front and responds instantly and
efficiently at the combined activity of hydraulic jacks thrust pressure; advance
speed; cutter head torque and revolution speed; mucking screw speed which were
controlled via a complex software and proper manning to set a constant value to the
drilling head and TBM shield to achieve the smoothest and fastest advance of the
boring machine. Using a soil conditioner that presented an up-graded formula
rendered to the excavated soil considerably improved parameters. Moreover, the
high degree of mechanization and automation of the excavation activity with TBM
has decreased the high level of soil settlement and excavation face failure risk,
resulting a very low ground settlement value for the project.

applied since the final result is influenced up to 40 % by the workmanship
quality. The works should be performed only by qualified personnel in this field,
by workers trained for the given purpose and who understood the usefulness of
such a system, but also the sensitivities of execution technology.

The aim of this paper is the evaluation of wastewater from the point of
view of the quality parameters and establishing the efficiency of the Huedin city
treatment plant, which was rehabilitated in 2013. The main indicators of the
water quality track and review both the treatment plant at the entrance and exit
for the period January 2012-December 2015, referring to the biochemical
consummation of the oxygen-CBO5, total suspensions, ammonium-NH4,
chemical oxygen demand – CCO-Mn, pH of the water, detergents, a fixed
residue, total nitrogen, total phosphorus and CCO-Cr. Analyses carried out and
processed into monthly and yearly averages for these indicators revealed that
after the modernizations of the treatment station, they are all of the regulations
currently in force concerning the conditions of wastewater discharge.

difficiles à mettre en oeuvre pour la protection efficace de l’environnement. Il

In wastewater of Urban can be found in large quantities of organic
substances. The elimination of such substances through the advanced
treatment is a trend at world level, for comply with legislation concerning the
protection of waters to the surface. Organic cleaning aerobic and anaerobic can
be a solution for the protection of the environment. Biological processes are
among the most widespread and applied for the treatment of organic residues
of biodegradable films. It is based on the activity of micro-organisms of different
types (mainly bacteria) oriented toward the destruction of organic compounds.
Biological processes of sewage sludge residues, that in principle, are fully
similar to those of sewage sludge organic hydric bodies.
